PROVIDENCE, RI –
From the moment Francesca inquired about designing the decor for her baby shower, I knew it was a match made in heaven. Wanting a unique vibe veering away from the traditional baby shower feel, this fun, co-ed cocktail party was an awesome way to celebrate her sweet baby girl on the way. With a travel theme in mind & a request to incorporate the couple’s cultures throughout, the party was on!
I had so much fun designing the details for this event as it really allowed me to think creatively & out of the box. Sticking with a neutral, tan, white & blush color palette, as a boy Mom, working with pink was way too fun. Skyline at Waterplace in downtown Providence made for the perfect setting, with its waterway views & clean, white open space. The textured wood pillar design on the backdrop display walls added that extra touch and the prop details completed the look. Vintage suitcases, a gold stand globe, adorable baby books & wooden toys, had “baby shower but take it up a notch” feels & it all came together so perfectly. The “In Flight Bites” menu, complete with line drawings representing the Lebanon, Italian & Portuguese food options and the “Luggage Drop Off” & “Baggage Claim” acrylic signs were a stunning addition.
Also, can we talk about the florals?! The gorgeous work from Flower Face Design made it all come together and the organic blooms added the extra sparkle. With a main statement piece for the backdrop and gorgeous centerpieces in clay textured pots, the design was everything. Our acrylic shaped airplane sticks looked great with the blooms add it all together with delicious food and a great atmosphere, this event was next level.
I think it’s safe to say that the cocktail baby shower is most definitely a thing & one I loved being a part of.
